Joyful Expressions Lighthouse Pictures
We love visiting lighthouses and taking lighthouse pictures.
Lighthouses are amazing. They are tall and thin, fat and squat, with or without houses attached, and they come in all shapes and sizes in between..
They are all over the world. And, each one has an interesting history.
Massachusetts - Cape Cod Pictures of Lighthouses
The Cape Cod Light
The Highland Light, aka The Cape Cod Light, is the jewel of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Today it is located within the National Seashore, and the grounds are a golfer's mecca on the moor overlooking the Atlantic Ocean(See the photo above). The photo to the right was taken in the 1930s, but it is much as I remember it in the 1950s.
I used the Photoshop Burn tool to make the light shine! I also used the Sharp tool and adjusted the exposure. I then added Saturation and a Sepia Filter.(Although the photo was actually sepia, the colors were washed out)!
Lighthouse pictures are one of Cape Cod's diverse seaside attractions. CLICK HERE for the official site of the Cape Cod Light.

England - Lighthouse Pictures of The Lizzard
The Lizzard is the only lighthouse we visited in England. Having traveled from the U.S., we weren't going to allow some British rain to prevent us from visiting this unique 2 tower light on the most southern tip of the island of England!
|
Commissioned in 1752, the Lighthouse includes a museum.
Hopefully, we'll be able to return to England one day and take more lighthouse photos, but if you have some we would love to see them and include them on this site. In the meantime Wikipedia lists all the UK lighthouses with links!

Our Lizzard Lighthouse pictures were taken in an almost blinding rain after driving from Falmouth, England and then down a narrow single track lane. Unfortunately, the museum was closed, but we were able to take some photos from the car.
