Calvary Chapel Worship Center 2013 Easter Production
Easter Images
(From other years)
Professional quality Easter images result from special effects when combined withthe appropriate ISO, Aperture and F-stop.
Most of these still Easter images from Calvary Chapel Worship Center are taken in ambient lighting (i.e.,without a flash) to avoid distracting the actors or audience.

More Images Of The Easter Cross
The photo at left is a slightly different view of the same scene. Here Jesus appears in agony, a thief on a cross is in view, and the woman in the foreground has lowered her arms and bowed to the ground.
Each of these photos have been cropped, and I have 'burned' in the Jesus image in each by 10% to give it more emphasis.
The scene above from the Easter story depicts the Roman soldiers on each side of the cross completing their grisly task.
Again, this is part of the same series of Easter photos, but the colors are deeper with less 'fog', and the only adjustments I made were to crop out the audience and clone the haze and then paste it over the spotlights.

The Crucifixion from a different perspective.
"After this Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said, to fulfil the Scripture, "I thirst." A bowl full of vinegar stood there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop and held it to His mouth. When Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, "It is finished"; and He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." (John 19:23-30 RSV)
Mary Wept
This poignant Easter photo of Mary weeping over Jesus dead body was taken at the 2011 Calvary Chapel Worship Center rehearsal of "Reflection".
This is, perhaps, my favorite Easter picture because of Mary's emotion. I was able to use a flash because it was a rehearsal.
It is also a wonderful example of the power of cropping as this detail is just a portion of a larger photo of the cross with a group of women weeping at its base over Jesus prone form.

The Women At Jesus Tomb
A less than perfect Easter image makes an interesting cartoon using Photoshop filters, Sumie and Smudge. The exposure was also adjusted and the entrance to the tomb was colored black (the lighting had originally colored it yellow).
Jesus Resurrection!
What a powerful Easter image!
"Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes"!
"O grave, where is your sting?"
Without the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, there is no Christianity.
Because He lives, we too can live! Jesus has done all the work through His life, death and resurrection!
All that is required of us is to accept His free gift of salvation by receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Then we too will resurrect to life everlasting with Him!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Pre-Crucifixion Images
The Last Supper
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
"Take and eat; this is my body." Matthew 26:26

Another version of the Last Supper. I've given this Easter image a more somber mood by using a Colored Pencil filter,
reducing opacity and selectively dodging and burning. Exposure was corrected first

The Garden of Gethsemene
He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:41,42 NIV)
An Easter Collage
The Easter image above of Jesus carrying the cross is a flash photo taken at the 2011 CCWC rehearsal. And it is actually 3 photos Photoshopped into a collage!
It was taken during a rehearsal so I was able to use a flash. I actually prefer the Easter photos my husband, Tom, took without a flash, so I used layers, cloning and filters to create the illusion of ambient lighting.
