Surrounded by tropical parks,
historic New Port Richey, Florida
is a haven for Florida photography
Magnificent tall Florida birds, weeping palms, winding trails, a multitude of waterways; and festivals all year!
'Signal Cove' is just north of New Port Richey Florida at the head of a series of canals that meander through the subdivisions of Leisure Beach and Signal Cove.
Located just a short walk from our first Florida home, Signal Cove was our favorite place to sit on a sultry evening to catch the breeze and watch another spectacular Florida sunset.
Produced on 16x20 canvas, 'Signal Cove' is the highlight of our living room.

There are lots of Florida photography opportunities for exciting pictures of Florida birds and wildlife. tropical floridaGreen Key is a lovely little tropical Florida beach a short drive out of town.. The road to the entrance has pretty inlets and views on both sides. The fishermen love it. We've taken lots of pictures of Florida birds here, and, of course, engagement and wedding sunset pictures. a beautiful vulture?Vultures are interesting Florida birds - ugly on the ground, but beautiful in flight. We "shot" this one (with our Fuji S2) not far from home. We took an earlier picture of him roasting on a raccoon. Does anyone know the proper name of this scavenger? Please note it on the Comment Form. To the right above is Grand Boulevard crosses Main Street in the center of historic New Port Richey Florida. a wild peacockThis peacock was wandering through the brush beside the road as we left Key Vista Park in New Port Richey. a Rural florida parkCrews Lake is northeast of New Port Richey, but still in Pasco County which may be the largest of Florida's 67 counties.
Each park has its own flavor. Crews Lake has a 3 or 4 story tower and a boardwalk onto the lake or marsh depending on the rainfall! It also has a miniature train big enough to give a ride to the whole family. Great birthday party venue! The water level at Crew's is up and down, but there are always Florida birds and wildlife. I believe the flying birds are Sandhill Cranes. Their red heads seem to give them away. Historic downtown |

On a Cotee River 'cruise' we were told that among a number of other celebrities, the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz also had a house on the river. New Port Richey Florida was once on a route to become what Hollywood became!
